Nafta Gulf Bridge Express

Gisholt Shipping is proud to have been instrumental in the formation of Nafta Gulf Bride Express, a new and innovative RORO service between Vera Cruz, Mexico and Mobile, Alabama which will revolutionize transport of goods between the two countries as a benefit of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). With more than 4 weekly sailings from each port the service can handle over 1000 over-the-road 53’ trailers per week and achieving large savings for cargo owners as well as the trucking industry, who have relied on long haul trips via the US/Mexican boarders. It has taken the founders of NGBE together with Gisholt Shipping over 15 years to develop this service and to gauge the right timing with the right type of vessels and partners. Now the time has come and the service will be in full force as of January 2011.

Yacht Transport

Probably one of the most successful broker/client relationships in the history of Gisholt Shipping, Inc is that between Yacht Path International (YPI) and Gisholt Shipping, Inc. It started with a meeting between the two parties in 2003 at a time when YPI moved some 50-60 yachts per year in limited markets. With YPI’s innovative approach to yacht transport, which has since revolutionized the industry and the well positioned Gisholt Shipping in the break bulk markets with access to all the world fleet of multipurpose vessels, this relationship has grown into a large industry and the YPI/Gisholt team move over 1000 yachts per year to/from destinations all around the world. Some of the highlights is the transportation of the two Americas cup 2010 race boats between Swiss billionaire Alinghi versus BMW/Oracle under strict secrecy. Ironically YPI/Gisholt moved both competing race boats to their racing destination which changed several times. The Alinghi boat included transport by the world’s largest helicopter from Switzerland to Genoa (not arranged by YPI/Gisholt)
