JGSI is a diversified brokerage firm employing ships of any type, handling anything from containers to complex project cargoes. Below are just a few examples of business conducted by JGSI: (Click on the pictures to enlarge) Since 2003 JGSI has been appointed exclusive brokers for Yacht Path International (www.yachtpath.com) for the transportation and logistics of yachts world wide.
JGSI arranged the transportation of several port cranes for the port of Montevideo, including one large mantled gantry crane as shown in these pictures.
Three 17000-20000 Dwat box tweendeckers with capacity of up to 1,100 TEU's and cranes of 120 tons fixed on long-term timecharter to clients of JGSI
This specialized container/break bulk vessel was the first long-term period vessel fixed to clients of JGSI starting a new liner service between USEC and Iceland.
This vessel inaugurated a new liner service between USG and Colombia chartered by clients of JGSI. Almost every year JGSI is instrumental in assisting clients to start a new liner service or new trade lanes.
In a rather unusual fixture, JGSI chartered this very large U.S. flag RORO vessel to close clients for the transportation of special project cargo.
A complex shipment of a 17000-cbm asphalt plant, as shown here, was handled by JGSI to the utmost satisfaction of their clients.
In 1999 clients of JGSI were presented with the difficult task of finding a 12000 Dwat pneumatic cement carrier with very shallow draft. When it became evident that such a vessel did not exist, JGSI arranged for a vessel to be converted by Norwegian Owners to fit the client’s needs. This resulted in a 7-year time charter of the CEM K seen here loading her ‘maiden’ voyage after conversion.
Also, specialized grab fitted selfunloaders were used to fulfill a 120,000-ton bulk cement contract.
A semi submersible ROLO vessel was employed to load two large port cranes from the port of Miami to Buenos Aires.
When close clients of JGSI purchased two Astrakhan type vessel's in the mid 90's, the two sister ships were brokered by JGSI for virtually every employment until the ships were sold. JGSI sold the last of the two ships in June 2000.
I Chartering
of multipurpose container ships to nice markets remains the main activity of
JGSI. The ability to employ sophisticated, shallow drafted and speedy ships are
the main criteria for it's liner clients.
